Medical Advocacy: Understanding Rights and Interactions with People with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

This project educates people and healthcare providers in the Peoria region to assure people with IDD have the best possible health. People with disabilities and families are equipped to recognize health concerns and preventative care needs and access care in an array of settings using the Health Risk Screening Tool. Healthcare providers at area nursing schools and clinics, and hospitals are trained on rights, respect, and health of people with IDD.
